Blocked or forgotten PIN code

Unlocking the PIN code on smart cards can be done in our self-service solution or with your PUK code. In self-service, you can set a new PIN code using Buypass ID in mobile or Bank ID.

  1. Insert the blocked smart card into the card reader and go to Self-service
  2. Select the desired identification method and follow the instructions.

Self-service requires installation of Javafree to be able to communicate with the card.

If you do not have access to a Buypass ID or Bank ID, you can unblock the card with a PUK code. You received this in the same letter as your PIN code. If you have lost it, you can order a new PUK code.

How to unblock the PIN code depends on the type of card you have:

  • Private
    1. Insert your smart card into the card reader

    2. Go to Buypass minibank > Avblokkere PIN-kode

    3. Enter the PUK code (8 digits) from your PIN/PUK code letter

    4. Enter a new PIN code

    5. Click Bekreft
  • User of Helsenett with NetID
    1. Insert the smart card into the card reader

    2. Go to the Start-menu on your computer, choose Alle programmer

    3. Choose the folder NetID

    4. Start the program Administrasjon

    5. Click on your name on the top and choose Lås opp sikkerthetskoden

    6. Choose Lås opp med opplåsningskoden

    7. Enter your PUK code (8 digits) and the new PIN code
  • User of Helsenett with Buypass Access
    1. Insert the smart card into the card reader

    2. Go to the Start-menu on your PC, choose Alle programmer

    3. Choose the folder Buypass Access

    4. Start the program Administrasjon

    5. Choose Aktivitet from the toolbar

    6. Click on Lås opp sikkerhetskoden and choose (BEID)

    7. Choose Lås opp med opplåsningskode

    8. Enter your PUK code (8 digits) and the new PIN code
