Smart Card Not Detected

If you are experiencing issues with your smart card solution, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Troubleshooting – Before Running a Smart Card Test

Before running a smart card test, we recommend checking the following:

  • Card reader: Ensure the card reader is connected to your PC/Mac and that the indicator light is on.
  • Smart card: Check that the chip is clean – gently wipe it if necessary.
  • Card insertion: Make sure the smart card is inserted correctly in the reader (chip facing inwards and upwards).
  • USB port: If the issue persists, try connecting the card reader to a different USB port.

Once these points have been verified, you can proceed to run a smart card test.

Run a Smart Card Test

Download the Smart Card Test tool

After downloading and installing, the test should start automatically.
If it does not, you can start the program manually:

  1. Go to the Start menu
  2. Select Programs > Buypass > Smart Card Test

If the test shows “Success,” everything is functioning correctly.
If you receive any other message, click “Send Log.”
The log file will be sent by email to: kundeservice@buypass.no
